Top 10 Favorite Apps
With more than 1 million apps available to us on our smartphones, tablets and smart watches, we wanted to see what our colleagues at Off Madison Ave consider to be the best apps on the market today.
From helping improve work process and productivity to keeping us calm, cool and collected, there’s no shortage of variety here.
Following are 10 apps we can’t live without:
1. Slack
“The Slack app allows me to easily access my team members without sending an email or opening my computer… and it’s pretty.” -Christina Guenther
2. Skala Preview
“It’s sometimes difficult to know how a design looks and feels on a mobile device until you can physically hold it in your hand and view it like a user. Skala Preview allows you to preview your designs on a mobile device, giving a better feel for the user experience.” -Kat Menze
3. Overcast
“This app makes it incredibly easy to find podcasts of interest by simply searching a topic or podcast title. I’ll hear about a podcast on the radio or via Twitter, and Overcast nearly always turns up what I’m looking for. Think Apple Store for podcasts.” -Amy La Sala
4. Spotify
“I am the worst app user. To just get me to use an app is a big deal, so it has to be better than most. Since I work with apps daily, I am probably overly judgmental, but I like Spotify for the radio and the discovery feature, Discover Weekly.” -Paul Huntsberger
5. CamScanner
“Call me old school, but one of my favorite apps scans documents on my phone. This is a great document management tool made quick and easy.” -Lisa Kula
6. 1Password
“With security breaches happening regularly, it’s critical to have passwords that change frequently and that are difficult to hack. With this app, all you have to do is remember one password to access the app, which is far easier than trying to memorize the more than 150 passwords I need across my personal and business accounts.” -Roger Hurni
7. HeadSpace
“People have all of these apps for their physical health, I think it is equally important to pay attention to your mental health. The benefits of reducing your stress and improving your focus are not only good for you, but it makes you more pleasant to be around.” -Carol Klimas
8. Alien Blue
“I waste gobs of hours on this Reddit app. I actually prefer it over the Reddit website because of its simplicity. I am able to read all of my subreddits in a clean and concise manner.” -Erik Madsen
9. A Color Story
“It’s a photo-editing app that helps boost color beyond your typical filters, plus it’s brought to you by a great group of people. I’m pretty jazzed by it and I’m hoping this will give a little edge to my photos beyond standard filters.” -Sasha Howell
10. NoWait
“This is an app that allows you to look at how long the wait at a restaurant is and hold a place in line without having to be present. For someone that always has a reservation, NoWait helps me out with spur of the moment lunch or dinner plans.” -Cara Pritulsky
